Sen. Kid Rock? Michigan GOP Official Thinks It Would Be 'Awesome'

But, according to multiple reports, the famous rocker's name was thrown out as a potential Republican candidate for Michigan Democrat Debbie Stabenow's Senate seat, which is up for re-election in 2018.

The Trump candidacy could be "a template" for a Kid Rock candidacy, and "I'll bet you he would generate as much excitement as Trump did", Nakagiri told the Free Press.

Michigan Republicans are intent on unseating Democratic U.S. Sen.

In 2013, Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, explained to Rolling Stone that though he usually tends to vote for Republicans and has supported many GOP candidates in the past, he considers himself "more libertarian".

Kid Rock was brought into the discussion at a Michigan Republican Party convention on February 11, as reported by The Detroit Free Press. He backed Donald Trump in the election by hawking shirts. Which I'd imagine happened when a Republican elite stood up in the meeting and screamed, "I NOMINATE KIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDD".

Born Free singer Rock has been a massive supporter of several Republican candidates, including Mitt Romney during his bid for the US presidency back in 2012. "I don't think insane people should have guns", he added. In December, the musician launched a PG-rated line of pro-Trump merchandise.
