Warren Frost, Dr. Will Hayward on 'Twin Peaks,' dies at 91

Twin Peaks has lost yet another of its returning Showtime cast, as star and co-creator Mark Frost's father Warren is no longer with us.

The actor, best known for his role as Doc in Twin Peaks and his stint on Seinfeld, passed away after a lengthy illness at his home in Vermont.

Frost also made a handful of appearances on NBC's critically acclaimed "Seinfeld" as Mr. Ross, the father to George Costanza's fiancée. "We're grateful to have shared him with the world for as long as we did", Warren's son Mark wrote in a statement.

The elder Frost joked about the unconventional hiring in a 2014 interview with the Burlington Free Press. Will Hayward - a physician and coroner who attracts interest for refusing to perform Laura Palmer's autopsy. He appeared in 30 episodes during the show's original two-season run and will be seen in the forthcoming revival coming to Showtime.

Frost was born on June 5, 1925 and split his time growing up between the Bronx and Essex Junction, Vermont. He was 91-years-old.

His film credits include The Mating Game with Debbie Reynolds and Tony Randall, It Started With a Kiss, and Slaughterhouse-Five.

In 1988, he was a regular for a year on the CBS daytime drama As the World Turns, and he played Garry Shandling's dad on a 1994 episode of HBO's The Larry Sanders Show.

Frost is survived by his wife of 68 years, Virginia, and his three children - author and producer Mark Frost, novelist and photographer Scott Frost, and actress and artist Lindsay Frost - as well as three grandchildren.
