Busch proclaims "everything's great" after NASCAR meeting with Logano

Busch proclaims

Having learned from that experience, Logano acted much differently when in a similar situation this week and didn't hesitate to call Kyle Busch, who Logano spun out on the final lap of last Sunday's race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. "So, that's that and we'll move and we'll start practicing in a little bit".

Logano tried to drive under Busch in the final two turns of the last lap and his auto didn't stick on the bottom line.

"Time will tell. I guess your actions on the race track are what speaks the loudest a lot of times", Logano said. Hope he was able to see that and know that I was honest about it.

Logano approved of the meeting and what was said.

Nonetheless, Logano called Busch on Wednesday to explain the circumstances that led to him washing up the track entering Turn 3 and into the side of Busch, causing him to spin down pit road while Logano continued unimpeded.

"It's an emotional sport", said Steve O'Donnell, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer.

"The beginning of it was really to let the drivers talk about what happened, which they did", he said. "I had a not very good entry (into turn 3) and had to slow down the vehicle a lot to stay on the bottom and tried to make up some of that speed at the bottom of the race track and then I got loose".

"We do, but in this case, we saw two drivers racing hard, racing hard for position", O'Donnell said. Busch walked directly up to Logano and threw a right punch.

Asked if he was OK to the outcome of the process, Logano said, "Yeah, yup".

"It's always good to get the two drivers together".

"Obviously, the money is on the line and we want to be able to go and get that, but at the end of the day it is still a race, and with these stages, we still have some many points and playoff implications if you can win that", said Joe Gibbs Racing driver Matt Tifft. "The ultimate goal is to make them clear of our expectations moving forward as we head into this weekend".
