Huddersfield's Jonathan Hogg taken to hospital with head injury

The Huddersfield midfielder was treated on the pitch by paramedics and placed in a neck brace before being stretchered off after he was involved in a collision with team-mate Mark Hudson seven minutes into the game.

Wagner's side are looking for their third consecutive victory, and Prutton believes they still have a chance of making the top-two, he said: "We have seen how powerful Huddersfield have been all season and they have closed the gap on the top two".

Newcastle United's promotion hopes received a major boost on Friday evening as Bristol City hammered Huddersfield Town 4-0 at Ashton Gate. In this sense, we can expect a close game, and with there being more than ever to play for going into this one, we can expect a good contest.

David Cotterill then scored a late penalty for Bristol City as they climbed out of the relegation zone and up to 19th in the table.

The result was put beyond doubt after 79 minutes when City's centre-back Flint scored with an audacious flick from Gary O'Neil's low ball into the box.

England Under-21 striker Abraham met Dave Cotterill's low cross from the right with a low first time finish from six yards to make it 2-0 just before the break. This should not happen, but it does.

On Hogg's condition, Wagner added: "Jonathan has a neck injury".

The win also came at the end of a hard couple of days as Johnson's father Gary, manager of Cheltenham and one of his predecessors in the Ashton Gate hot-seat, is recovering in a Bristol hospital from a heart operation, which was carried out by the surgeon father of City defender Joe Bryan.

Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner checks on Jonathan Hogg as he receives treatment on the pitch.
