Pair of teens at Rockville High School charged with raping classmate

Two male students are being charged with raping a female student inside of a bathroom stall at Rockville High School Thursday morning, Montgomery County police said.

According to investigators, the victim was walking in a school hallway at around 9am when she ran into Jose Montano, 17, and Henry Sanchez, 18.

The 14-year-old girl later reported the alleged attack to school officials, who called police. The school administrators then notified police. One of the suspects asked the girl to walk with them to school.

The rape occurred at the school Thursday during school hours, according to police.

The police account said that after Montano asked the victim to have sex with him and she refused he forced her into a bathroom stall where he and Sanchez allegedly raped her.

Police say they've charged Montano and Sanchez with first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree sexual offense.

Both will be charged as adults.

After concluding their investigation, officers arrested Montano and Sanchez on school property. They were held without bond and will have bond review Friday in Rockville District Court.

The Associated Press does not generally name victims of sexual assault.
