First impressions: The Huawei P10 smartphone

According to Android Central, the Huawei P10 Lite has a 5.2-inch display with 1080p resolution. However, according to the leaked pictures, the Huawei P10 Lite features a 5.2-inch full HD 1080 IPS display.

Huawei has announced the Lite variant of its P10 smartphone.

All in all, it sounds like the P10 Lite won't be a bad choice for someone who doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg on a new phone.

Last month, the alleged Huawei P10 Lite was spotted on Geekbench website, revealing some details about the handset, including its existence. Nevertheless, the P10 Lite is still an impressive device, given its hardware specs. Generally available from 31st March, it will be ranged at Carphone Warehouse, EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. It seems that Huawei has chose to take the cheaper model in a slightly different direction from the "flagship" variants, adopting a different construction, in addition to dual-camera system eliminating the use of a "mid-range" hardware.

Preorders for the P10 Lite is now available, but only in the United Kingdom through a number of retailers, including Vodafone, EE, and Carphone Warehouse.

The larger P10 Plus is available for 23,900 baht. For its price and features, the P10 Lite is looking to be a pretty stellar phone, and it could become the ideal midrange entry for those who might balk at the pricier P10 and P10 Plus. At the heart, the smartphone is powered by a Kirin 655 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM.

On the back of the P10 Lite is a 12-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 lens, and on the front is an 8-megapixel shooter. The big selling point is the new portrait mode feature, which is targeted towards the "fashion forward users of Instagram", said Arne Herkelmann, European Head of Handset Portfolio and Planning. Using the dual-lens setup of the Huawei P10, the smartphone can identify and track your face, analyse and adjust the light and more, all in real time to focus on your features and contour your face. Color options at launch will include Black, White, and Gold.

Speaking of the front-facing camera, it has also had an upgrade compared to the P9 and is now co-engineered with Leica, just like the rear-facing cameras.
