Johnnie-U reviews Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast'

The autotune on both Watson and Dan Stevens as the Beast was distracting and obvious, but still somehow does not hold a candle to the underwhelming and unsettling designs of characters like Lumière, Cogsworth, and Mrs. Potts.

After he starred as Matthew Crawley, heir to the family estate in the hit ITV drama, Dan quickly became a household name, so he no doubt has a soft spot for Matthew.

The classic tale of "Beauty and the Beast" originated in print form in 18th century France. "It's not just about my character", Gadd said.

"They want everyone back for an original story".

Disney's animated classic takes on a new form, with a widened mythology and an all-star cast.

"They bear retelling. That's the mark of any great story, isn't it?"

I like the way all the characters develop, particularly when they grapple with what loss has created in their lives.

Composer Alan Menken really wanted to include the song "If I Can't Love Her" in the new live-action "Beauty and the Beast".

The exciting thing about technology is it's how you use it. So I was puppeteering a muscle suit on set, covered in grey Lycra on 10-inch stilts, so all the body happens on set. With Ewan McGregor, Sir Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson, who are all charming, sometimes it's like watching a combination of "Star Wars", "Lord of the Rings" and "Nanny McPhee".

"I can't believe what they've managed to do and the way fairytales have embraced this technology, and vice versa, it's fantastic". The next day, we see Belle in a green dress where the Beast gives her the library.

Yes, you can do worse than watching them come together.

This whole situation is pretty odd.

Meanwhile, Emma previously revealed she had to go to "Belle Bootcamp" to learn how to ride a horse, sing and dance for her role in the movie. I don't believe I've done any searching for the film either, so I think it's not due to perceived interest. It's just something I've noticed with these live-action remakes (reenactments?).

"We had these up numbers and the one ballad so we felt we could afford gentler or more anthemic moments", Menken said of the new songs.

Watson, for as long as we have known her, is just the kind of Belle the film is looking for - the beauty with sensible brains.
