Logano foils Busch's winning bid as Newman swoops in for upset

"There are moments in my racing career when I wondered why I got up and went to the race track". He finished just.312 second behind Ryan Newman.

It was a decision that earned Newman a victory in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race, ending his 127-race winless streak.

Sure, it's only four events into the marathon 36-race season.

For Larson, this was the fourth time finishing in the second position since Homestead past year. Larson finished second, Ky Busch finished third, Stenhouse Jr. finished fourth, and Keselowski rounded out the top-five. There's a Facebook meme going around the internet with a photo of a bloodied Busch and a parody of the "Most Interesting Man in the World" Dos Equis commercials. He restarted fifth after Larson beat him off of pit road.

In an earlier restart, Dillon had driven his auto low, allowing Jones to take the lead briefly but Allgaier had the fastest vehicle at the end. They are the reason why we are running as well as we are. Clearly, we need the "I Love You" auto again.

Larson was the runner-up to Ryan Newman in the Camping World 500 after appearing to have the advantage going into a two-lap overtime finish. He did admit he wished for a re-do on the last restart. "Hindsight is always 20/20, but I should have went a lane up in (Turns) 1 and 2".

NASCAR's 20-somethings showed their strength again at PIR, surely to the delight of motorsports industry executives striving to attract younger fans.

Finishing sixth through 10th were Kevin Harvick, Daniel Suarez, Erik Jones, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin. After leading 103 laps at Phoenix, Chase Elliott had successive poor restarts following a pair of cautions in the second half of the race.

Logano started on the pole and won on the same track in the next-to-last race of last season. What a gutsy call by (crew chief) Luke (Lambert). When Pattie saw how many other cars were pitting, he changed his mind, but it was too late.

"Our cars have been competitive enough to win all three races (this year)", he said. "I was really loose". The first two races were won by NASCAR Cup drivers Kyle Busch and Joey Logano but no Cup veterans competed on Saturday. He came out 26, and like Elliott, Truex had a fast auto - but not enough to get back to the front. "We were in the right position and had a great shot at winning". Now I finish second like every week, so. Kyle Larson starts in the second row, and he's all of 24.
