Pokemon Job Listings Hints at a Future Switch Release

And today, news out of Pokemon series developer Game Freak may just feed into the rumour mill even more.

There have been other reports in the past to support this theory as a year ago, some evidence appeared that a Nintendo Switch Pokemon game was in development as Pokemon Star.

These requirements seem more than enough to consider a Nintendo Switch Pokemon version although it is to be considered a rumor until an official announcement. Whether the ads are for the same game or not is unclear.

Spotted by Silicon Era, the first listing calls for 3D CG designers for a console project, and opens with "Here's a chance to work on the development of a globally popular RPG!"

The order of the day for the listed jobs includes the creation of item models, monsters, and super-deformed characters along with some debugging and data work.

The second Game Freak job listing doesn't refer to an RPG, but it's a similar job description to the 3D CG designer. It nearly sounds too soon for a new Pokemon title, but games take a long time to develop. However, this ad specifies applicants should have experience working on character models "at the level of Wii U and PS Vita". Especially with Nintendo having already announced that it has cancelled production of the Wii U. It is, however, entirely possible that Nintendo is developing another DS as we speak, so a new Pokémon game could end up there too. The apparent RPG will be on a console and the job contract is stated to end May 2018.
