As per his opinion, Sidhu "faces no legal bar in continuing with his work on the show".

Sidhu is a permanent guest at the the comedy series, The Kapil Sharma Show.

There was, in the opinion of the state's advocate general, no violation of the Constitution, the Representation of the People Act, 1951 or the Code of Conduct in this case.

Amarinder had been weighing the option of changing Sidhu's culture portfolio had it been found to be in conflict with his TV work.

Citing the Constitution, the report concluded that the role and function of a celebrity judge on the show is not an office-of-profit under the Government of India/the State Government.

"Hence the continuation of such work would not invite the disqualification of holding of an office of profit within the meaning of Article 191 (1)", it said.

After him, senior most cabinet minister Brahm Mohindra took oath, followed by other cabinet ministers including Navjot Singh Sidhu, Manpreet Singh Badal, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Rana Gurjit Singh, Charanjit Singh Channi, two ministers of State (independent charge) Aruna Chaudhary and Razia Sultana. The two were seen laughing over one of Sidhu's wisecracks and engaged in a long banter thereon as the local bodies minister explained the Delhi model of generating power out of sewage to the CM.
