Narada tapes a BJP conspiracy to malign TMC: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has claimed that the BJP tried to topple her government and replace her with a puppet Chief Minister from within the Trinamool Congress just before the 2016 Assembly elections.

Mark Rowley, Acting Deputy Commissioner and head of Counter-Terrorism unit, said the dead included a woman in her 40s, a man in his 50s, police officer Keith Palmer and the attacker. A particular political party is threatening him. "There is something wrong and fishy about it. Mayawati has raised doubts about EVMs and I think they still have the opportunity to challenge its functioning in courts", said the West Bengal Chief Minister in an interview to ABP Ananda, a local Bengali channel. This vendetta politics also comes in the way of doing good work for the people, she said, asserting that the Centre will not be able to succeed in its design.

Asked about reports of her party MP K D Singh funding the entire sting operation, she said, "K D Singh had relations with the BJP for running his own business". "The major transport problems will be over with the completion of the Metro Railway projects in the state, which I had initiated during my tenure as the railway minister", Banerjee said. Regarding the visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina to India on April 7 and the possible successive signing of Teesta agreement, Mamata said that till now she had no idea about the agreement.

Speaking on the Narada sting issue, she tended to make conflicting statements, first doubting Narada News' credibility and second calling the video footages a "product of conspiracy hatched by the BJP against me".

He said, "Hasina's forthcoming visit to India is going to be really a very important visit and we hope it will further consolidate mutually beneficial ties with Bangladesh".

The Trinamool supremo also assured that people may not worry about the future of the party after her because "TMC has grown four generations of leaders". "I have heard that non-bailable charges have been slapped on Srijato".
