Galaxy Note 8 rumoured to feature dual-camera and 6.4-inch display

Both Samsung and its partners will only be selling the black and gold variants of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus in India for the time being, and the company has yet to clarify on whether it's planning to debut more color options in the country later this year, though that seems like a likely scenario. We have seen prototypes of a dual camera Galaxy S8 leak in recent days but Samsung did not see any value in including it at this stage thus it missed the final cut. Flipkart is the online partner for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and it will also be available via select offline retail stores. There is also 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card upto 256GB.

The Galaxy S8 is powered by a 3000mAh battery while the bigger Galaxy S8+ comes with a 3500mAh battery. While the Galaxy S8 was priced at Rs 57,900, the Galaxy S8 Plus was launched at Rs 64.900.

Despite the significantly larger screens on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, the reengineered design with rounded edges and symmetrical sides make them compact and comfortable for one-handed operation. There is an 8-megapixel camera on the front with a f/1.7 aperture. Other details about the handset are not available, but we'll update you as soon as we get to hear more about it.

The hardware is one place where the United States variant of the S8 differs from the S8 launched in India. The home button has been shifted beneath the "infinity display". With the new Samsung Galaxy S8 series, there is definitely more room for everything, from office documents, games, to videos and photos.

Both the models will also come with Samsung DeX, Gear VR and a Gear 360 camera. Both the smartphones bear the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Samsung has also included IRIS scanner for enhanced security. Both have fast-charging capability through the USB C port. Both the devices are IP68 rated dust and water resistant and have Android Nougat operating system out of the box. The devices will go on sale in India from 5 May, but can be pre-ordered from today.
