Jinder Mahal No.1 contender for WWE Championship

He said if Charlotte can defeat Naomi in a non-title match tonight, she'll get a championship match next week.

Charlotte beat Naomi via pinfall to become No.1 contender for Smackdown Live women's championship Charlotte dominated the early proceedings with superior grappling skills than Naomi. The WWE turned him heel but he spent the last few months feuding with two men who moved to Monday Night Raw in the superstar shakeup and has been nowhere near a title since then.

According to ShowBuzzDaily.com, this week's edition of WWE Smackdown Live, featuring a main event of Baron Corbin vs AJ Styles, and a 6 pack challenge which saw Jinder Mahal named the new #1 contender to the WWE Title, averaged 2.544 million viewers. He got an assist from The Bollywood Boyz before pinning Sami Zayn to win the six-pack challenge, which also included Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, Mojo Rawley, and Dolph Ziggler.

Will Charlotte claim the Smackdown Women's Championship? This week, SmackDown went head to head with the NBA Playoffs, including the Chicago Bulls vs. the Boston Celtics, two of the biggest markets in the country.
