Someone Actually Paid $15000 For McDonald's Mulan Szechuan Sauce on eBay

A McDonald's dipping sauce from 1998 just sold on Ebay for $14,700, Time Magazine reports.

Time reports that one Rick And Morty fan is now on the hook for $14,700 for an unopened container of McDonald's Mulan SzeChuan teriyaki dipping sauce someone found while cleaning their vehicle. Also this comes with a packet of wasabi as well.

It was first released as a promotional launch that corresponded to the release of Disney's Mulan, and in the episode, Rick acquires the Szechuan sauce and proves to the Galactic Federation agent that the sauce is actually pretty incredible. Then, earlier this month, an episode of the cult sci-fi cartoon Rick and Morty lobbied McDonalds for the long-dead promo sauce's return, filling its season 3 premiere with references to it. After watching the recent episode of 'Rick and Morty, ' I went online to see if it was worth anything.

"I just bought a really old auto, while cleaning it I found a packet of this sauce.", the listing states.

Though there are 187 bids dragging the price of the sauce up from its humble beginnings at $10.00, every single bid is from the same user "u**h", who literally has zero* feedback on his account.

In Adult Swim's popular cartoon series Rick and Morty, irreverent mad scientist Rick Sanchez embarked on an interdimensional adventure with the sole goal of getting a packet of McDonald's Szechuan sauce.

I hope somebody who wants to eat some 20 year old gnarly sauce gets this.

"I just bought a really old vehicle".

The episode has sparked fans to petition for the sauce to be brought back.

"We never say never because, when our customers speak, we listen", McDonald's spokeswoman Terri Hickey said.
