Johnson's Buzzer Beater Stuns Clippers in Game 1

Gobert, 24, suffered a bone bruise and hyperextension of his left knee in Saturday's 97-95 Jazz victory.

Paul pulled the Clippers within 90-89 on a 3 with 2:08 left in the game.

"We're not sure what the situation is with Rudy yet", Jazz coach Quin Snyder said.

The two-time reigning NBA MVP sprained the MCL in his right knee when he slipped on a wet spot just before halftime of a Game 4 win at Houston in the first round of the 2016 playoffs. They got small and stretched the floor, which hurt us a little bit, and we didn't play great.

The game everyone assumed was over in the first seconds actually was not decided until the final second ticked off the clock. This current group has never made it past round two of the playoffs and seem unlikely to this year seeing as they will have to go through the Warriors, who they have been utterly inept against for three years. He was great all night tonight, switching out when necessary, defending the rim (Clippers were five of 10 down there with Favors defending) and keeping the DeAndre Jordan pick and rolls in check.

The Jazz held the Clippers to just a 99.5 offensive rating in tonight's game, and again, that was without their defensive player.

Fortunately, after an MRI on Sunday, it was revealed that there was no ligament damage in Gobert's knee. Utah Jazz center, Rudy Gobert, got injured early on in the game, thus making getting into the paint that much easier for the Clippers. We now don't know if Rudy will return to this series, or when, but the Clippers should have had a playoff win tonight and they didn't.

The Raptors have lost the opening game in eight consecutive playoff series. They will have some time before Game 2 on Tuesday night to regroup and figure out what went wrong. "It would be nice to get him back, obviously". Snyder's most used lineup combination consisted of George Hill at point guard, Derrick Favors at the center position and three wing players, Joe Johnson, Gordon Hayward, Joe Ingles. For the Clippers it was yet another disappointment for a team who has struggled (to say the least) during playoff time. In fact, he used his momentum to get to half court; hoping that the Clippers get the ball back so he could have a uncontested dunk.

Gobert averaged 14 points and 12.8 rebounds in the regular season.

They won a big game. Hayward, will nearly certainly opt out of the final years of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent for the first time.
