Rangers focusing on playing better in Game 4 vs. Canadiens

Unfortunately, a few minutes after the Rangers goal, the Canadiens converted on a 2-on-1 rush and tied the game at 1-1.

Coming into tonight's game, the Rangers have clearly been fighting it for some time on home ice, and needed an early bounce to get the crowd into the game. LW Pavel Buchnevich made his postseason debut, replacing LW Tanner Glass. They rolled four skill lines, and opponents-even the very good ones-couldn't keep up.

Game 3 is Sunday night in Columbus.

About a minute later, Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov misplayed the puck along the boards and Fast grabbed the loose puck and slid it through the legs of Price for an unassisted goal at 11:39 to open the scoring. Their 58.06 5-on-5 Corsi For percentage dominated, as did their high-danger shot attempts (13-8).

Logan Couture and captain Joe Pavelski scored twice for the Sharks, who turned the tables on the Oilers with a shutout of their own after being blanked in back-to-back games themselves. Rather, when hitting or taking hits, his priority was to make plays. The goal was waived off and the Rangers power play was over as Nash was whistled for goaltender interference.

For veteran forward Derek Stepan, it wasn't a lack of effort that was to blame.

Schwartz had a power-play goal at 15:19 of the second period to put the Blues one win away from the second round. However, they did not let it overpower or distract from their game. "Our top players need to find their game". They sustained puck possession.

He finished with 23 saves while only allowing one goal when the Canadiens had a 2-on-1 advantage. "There were a couple of chances where we got pucks to the net and the rebounds were sitting there, and we have to dig a little deeper to come up with those second chances". The Rangers never regained any momentum after Montreal tied the contest late in regulation, and Lundqvist held his club in the game with a number of timely saves in overtime before the Habs finally scored.

Like the Rangers, the Canadiens too risked chances by hitting at inopportune times. Lindberg and the Rangers maintained offensive pressure from Grabner's initial shift with 7:23 remaining in the second period, until Price covered the puck 17 seconds later. "You got to make your passes - can't be at guys' feet, can't be behind guys".

Skjei's goal ended the scoring.

Game two: Predators at Blackhawks - After stealing game one at United Center, the Predators will look to go 2-0 up.
