There are no easy games for Madrid...

The midfield magician's second goal was crucial as it handed Madrid the victory in the 90th minute. The win ended a frightful week which saw Barca lose 2-0 in Malaga and 3-0 away to Juventus, but even the three points couldn't disguise the feeling of decline. We didn't have a lot of time to rest, those that have come in have been fantastic and that's really what makes the team excellent.

Sociedad had lost all 16 previous visits to the Camp Nou, but they had more shots on goal than Barca during a helter-skelter first 45 minutes, and could easily have been ahead at the break. With the team we have, we can do damage to any side - our DNA at Real Madrid is to fight to the end and we have done that.

At a signing event prior to the game, a young fan asked Isco if he could make the sign for her parents, who are both deaf.

Nevertheless, Zidane is putting his eggs in the Champions League quarterfinals basket, when Bayern Munich will be looking to overturn a 2-1 deficit on Wednesday.

The sense that only Lionel Messi can deny Madrid a first league title in five years was strengthened as he scored twice and made the other for the improving Paco Alcacer in Barcelona's 3-2 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday evening.

Only captain Sergio Ramos and Fernandez Nacho retained their places as James Rodriguez, Lucas Vazquez, Morata and Marco Asensio all coming in along with Portuguese defender Fabio Coentrao for a rare start.

Duje Cop opened the scoring with a well-taken volley from close range before a super Isco equaliser into the top corner of the Sporting net.

Sporting's joy was short-lived as Isco was allowed a touch too much room inside the area, shuffled away from Carlos Carmona, skipped past Vesga and Fernando Amorebieta, and lashed a shot into the top corner for a similarly high-quality equaliser.

Zinedine Zidane has started rotated squads in the past that have put on terrific performances.

"You have to have character to do what he did", Zidane said.

In an all-important fixture against relegation-facing Sporting Gijon, Isco proved why Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta described him as an "incredible player" and ensured his team's victory by 3-2, smashing two goals, including one in injury time.

It was Sporting that made the breakthrough in the 14th minute when Cop allowed a wonderful pass from Mikel Vesga to drop straight onto his left foot, and the striker's volley found a route past Kiko Casilla in the Real Madrid goal.
