Tianjin Quanjian Working To Sign Diego Costa From Chelsea - Sky Sources

The 28-year-old has suffered a dip in 2017, scoring only three goals, but still have 17 Premier League goals this season.

Costa and Chelsea have yet to comment on the latest rumours, but it now appears clear that the player and his suitors in China are keen to push forward with a deal that could see the forward earn €650,000-a-week.

Shu Yuhui, the billionaire owner of Tianjin, has now claimed that a deal for Costa is in the pipeline and has vowed that the club will challenge the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich for the world's best players in the transfer window.

"We have high standards [in buying foreign players] and those players prefer top clubs such as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid".

The Spain global was the subject of interest from the Chinese Super League in January, though the Blues turned down an £80million offer for his services at the time.

Chelsea are not selling Abraham, to be sure - he's already attracting potential bids in the £10-15m range - but a possible loan to Everton, who are said to be interested, could grease the wheels of summer-defining transfers for both teams.

"I can tell you the players we want are also the targets of these clubs, so we have to pay bigger price to beat them".

The Chinese Super League season began in March and ends in November, with a mid-season transfer window open from June 19 to July 14, during which time a massive offer is expected to come in for Costa.

Tianjin, coached by Italy's World Cup-winning former captain Fabio Cannavaro, won promotion to China's top flight in October.
