Trump congratulates Patriots, doesn't mention Hernandez

Spicer smiled as he looked over his right shoulder and said, "I think I got this, but thank you". Brady and Trump are friends, but Brady has avoided talking about Trump for months.

Today's White House Press Briefing was briefly interrupted when New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski made a decision to crash.

Wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell said he was moved by the White House ceremony, saying it "almost brought me to tears". Patriots owner Robert K. Kraft is a close friend of Trump and contributed $1 million to his inauguration festivities, according to disclosures cited by the Times that were filed with the Federal Election Commission.

President Donald Trump is saluting the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots at the White House. He discussed why he chose to not attend the White House visit on CNN Wednesday night from his home in Arizona. The quarterback is reportedly spending the day with his mother, who is in Boston and has been dealing with an illness.

But Brady said that due to some "recent developments", he is unable to attend because he is "attending to some personal family matters".

Guards found the 27-year-old Hernandez hanging from a bedsheet in his cell Wednesday morning at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Massachusetts, where he was serving a life sentence for a murder conviction.

The New England Patriots are the professional sports team most closely associated with President Donald Trump, so it was fitting that they were the first championship team to visit Trump in the White House.

White reportedly wasn't at the White House visit.

Besides Brady, six members of the team were not expected at Wednesday's event. He similarly skipped the White House celebration for the team's win in the 2015 Super Bowl, which was former president Barack Obama's final time greeting the team. I'm going back to work on my bunker.
