Biden disses Clinton's candidacy in Las Vegas speech, weighs possible 2020 run

Biden still said Clinton would have made a very good president. Biden and his family were still reeling after the death of his son, Beau, who succumbed to cancer in May 2015, CNN reported. "Could I? Yes", he said.

For now, as he revealed on Thursday, Biden is focused on family and on fulfilling some financial obligations, including paying off his mortgage.

Former Vice President Joe Biden surprised many on Thursday with remarkably candid comments on former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's campaign, including that he "never thought" Clinton was a great candidate.

"Let's wake up!" he said.

If Biden is shopping for slogan ideas, we like the sound of Make America Sane Again. I thought I could beat anybody that ran. "What are we going to do?' C'mon man!"

Joe Biden might be considering making another run for the White House. Biden has often said he thought he would have beaten Trump in the 2016 election had he run. But Biden said Obama promised him he'd be the last guy in the room on every important issue - a promise that was ultimately kept.

"Everybody is entitled to the dignity they've earned", added Biden, who served six terms as a USA senator from DE before his eight years as vice president to Barack Obama.

"No one should ever seek the presidency unless they're able to devote their whole heart and soul and passion into just doing that".

Still, Biden praised his commander-in-chief, saying Obama was "absolutely, totally competent;" someone who took the job "extremely seriously".

He made no direct reference to Trump during his speech, for which he donated his $200,000 fee to charity.
