Russia's Putin offers transcript of White House meeting

Hours after the report came out, GOP House Oversight Committee chairman Jason Chaffetz demanded that the Federal Bureau of Investigation turn over any and all "memoranda, notes, summaries and recordings" that the Federal Bureau of Investigation may have in its possession. Last week after Trump fired Comey, for instance, Chaffetz asked the Department of Justice to investigate the circumstances of Comey's dismissal. Comey reportedly produced a series of memos detailing his various interactions with Trump.

The Senate intelligence committee has invited former FBI Director James Comey to testify before the panel and has also requested copies of his memos of conversations with President Donald Trump, Sen.

A Jordanian - and not Israeli - agent is the source of the intelligence information leaked by U.S. President Donald Trump to the Russians last week, Al Jazeera reported early Thursday.

Putin did wade into the US debate over the true role of Russian interference in last year's election, and seemed to give backing to the notion that Washington and Moscow have common interests that they should advance.

Trump's National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster denied the president caused any security lapses while Trump himself insisted he had the "absolute right" to share "facts pertaining.to terrorism and airline flight safety" with Russian Federation. However, the call with Netanyahu was not publicized either by the White House or the Prime Minister's Office.

Flynn was forced to resign one day before the conversation between Comey and Trump, after it was revealed that Flynn lied to Vice President Mike Pence about connections he had with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Authorities said Russian Federation meddled in November's election to benefit Trump.

He said: 'The President wasn't even aware of where this information came from - he wasn't even briefed on the source or method of this information either'.

"That was not an accurate representation of that meeting", White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said of the report, based on a source who purportedly had Comey's notes or memo of the exchange.

The second such story concerned a memo Comey had written, but the reporter (s) had not seen. In addition Trump is facing pointed questions about his discussions with Russian diplomats during which he is reported to have disclosed classified information. At every turn the president has upended traditional American foreign policy, often taking his advisers by surprise, such as inviting the president of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte, to the White House, or congratulating Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan on winning a recent referendum that was condemned by virtually all traditional U.S. allies.

As chair of the House Oversight Committee, Chaffetz has broad powers to launch inquiries into government - and presidential - misdeeds.

Republicans and Democrats alike were eager to hear from Comey, who has increasingly emerged as a central figure in the unfolding drama.

The Post reported that United States officials were concerned that Trump had disclosed highly sensitive information from an ally that contained enough details to possibly enable the Russians to draw a fuller picture of the source.

Striking a defiant stance, he added: "You can't let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams. But whether it will be given any credibility - I can tell you its credibility would be less than zero", Schiff said.
