Team issues statement about Isaiah Thomas' teeth injuries

Most of the conference semifinals series of the 2017 NBA Playoffs have been grossly one-sided, but not the series between the No. 1 Boston Celtics and the No. 4 Washington Wizards in the Eastern Conference. "Post columnist Jerry Brewer wrote bluntly after Game 4 that the Wizards are "flat-out better than the Boston Celtics", and that the only reason this series is tied is because the Celtics "(are) tough, and they have played well at the right moments at home". Oubre got to his feet and charged at Olynyk, shoving him as a scuffle ensued with several players involved and the refs probably feeling like they were patrolling the ice of a hockey arena instead of the hardwood of a basketball court.

"I guess just two teams that really don't like each other", Wall said.

So weird, in fact, that Thomas' postgame comments were critical of how the game was officiated. If they manage to tie the series up, they will be comfortable with exactly where they are, the same can not be said about Boston.

Rozier was coming off the best game of his National Basketball Association career in Game 2, having delivered 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists - as well as an enormous 3-pointer that tied the score at 110-110 in the fourth - in the Celtics' overtime victory.

Isaiah Thomas scored 53 points in the Celtics' 129-119 overtime victory on Tuesday but was held to 13 points on 3-of-8 shooting in Game Three. They are averaging 37 total rebounds and allowing 12.5 offensive rebounds against the Wizards. "They set the tone". The Wizards may not need Oubre, however, as they've shown a theme in every game so far-that they can outplay Celtics for stretches at a time.

The damage by the end of the quarter: a Washington 90-68 lead and the fourth straight game in which the team has built a huge advantage against the top seed in the East. "That's what happens when you play hard, but we're not going to overreact". "We understood what we had to do and we were locked in". "Especially in that third quarter, I may have hit the ground five or six times". "The fact that they were home I feel like they were able to hold onto the lead and put us away". Game 3 was all about Washington and I think Game 4 will be the same. "We've got options, we can move some people around. So I think that has to change". Oubre was ejected from the game and later in the fourth quarter Terry Rozier of the Celtics and Brandon Jennings of the Wizards were also sent to the showers early after picking up double technicals. Thomas hit his first three shots in the first quarter (all 3-pointers) and he had eight more points by halftime.

Washington would lead by as many as 26 points in the game and outscored the Celtics 237-191 in the two games in Washington. That's not going to cut it against a team such as Washington when the Wizards are playing physical defense, contesting shots and disrupting passing lanes.

Then, later in January, Wall told the Wizards they should all dress in black for their next matchup against the Celtics because it was their funeral. He said it was up to his team to make the Wizards pay for giving him so much attention. The Wizards' win evened the series at 2-2. The two teams will meet for game five, Wednesday, May 10, at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Fundamentally, the Wizards' game is defending well and turning defensive rebounds into quick transition points.

Isaiah Thomas has dealt with a lot during the Boston Celtics current playoff run, including a busted-up mouth.
