Cosby's team attacks judge likely to retry him in sex case


Constand took the stand and testified that she was drugged by Cosby during the incident, and therefore she was unable to consent.

If they can't break the deadlock, O'Neill could declare a hung jury and a mistrial.

Following the ruling, Cosby's side declared victory.

"Mr. Cosby's power is back. the jurors, they used their power to speak". But justice will come.‎" Meanwhile, Cosby spokesman Andrew Wyatt said, ‎"Johnnie Cochrane is looking down smiling.

"We will revaluate and review our case and will retry it and move as soon as possible", Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele told reporters. She also asked for privacy for her and her family. In the statement, which Bill Cosby later tweeted, she attacked Judge O'Neill, describing him as "overtly arrogant" and accusing him of "collaborating with the district attorney".

The judge declared a mistrial after jurors deadlocked on the charges after six days.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial ended Saturday with a jury that was deadlocked on all counts, punctuating an epic scandal with a giant question mark. "She's entitled to a verdict in this case".

Gloria Allred is the lawyer for 33 of the women who accused Cosby of slipping them pills and sexually assaulting them.

In 2006, Cosby closed a civil suit filed against him by Constand with a compensation deal, after a criminal court refused to hear her complaint.

The jurors clearly struggled with their verdict, telling the judge on Thursday they were at impasse. The jurors did not mention anything about the deadlock again until Saturday when they announced they were "hopelessly deadlocked" and that the deadlock could not be resolved by additional deliberations. Many more were still expressing outrage that the Minnesota police officer who shot Philando Castile was acquitted Friday.

Jurors have already discussed the case for more than 50 hours since Monday, leading to Cosby's lawyer to push for a mistrial.

Cosby first came to prominence as the first black American actor to appear in a starring role in a mainstream TV drama, I Spy, in 1965, and became a huge star in the 1980s in the eponymous Cosby Show, playing Cliff Huxtable. He also found success with his "Fat Albert" animated TV show and starred in commercials for Jell-O pudding. She says Cosby drugged and assaulted her at his home near Philadelphia in January 2004.

However, a scroll through Cosby's replies on Twitter prove that Bill and Camille are on the receiving end of plenty of GIFs and comments calling them choice words as well, or getting a middle-finger salute from some Twitter users via GIF animation.

He also said he gave Constand three half-tablets of the cold and allergy medicine Benadryl before the "petting" began.

Prosecutors argued Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted Constand.
