Golden State one win from title

No team has ever come back from an 0-3 deficit in the Finals, though three teams forced a Game 6 and one - the 1951 New York Knicks - managed to reach a Game 7.

Golden State Warriors moved one win away from their second National Basketball Association title in three years, after a 118-113 win over Cleveland Cavaliers.

James and Irving were terrific for the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the NBA Finals Wednesday night - until the final few minutes. Inside of a minute left in Game 3, down 113-111, Durant hit a 3-pointer over LeBron James to help lead Golden State to victory.

Durant, who controversially joined Golden State during last year's Free Agency, made a go-ahead three-point basket to silence the crowd at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Durant finished 31 points and eight rebounds, with guard Klay Thompson adding 30 points in a breakout performance after two weak games to start the series.

Irving can be given a pass because he was able to bring the Cavaliers back into the game and raise the intensity of his teammates in the third quarter.

James went 7-of-8 from the floor for 16 points in the first quarter, but when he went to the bench late in the period the Warriors closed it with a 10-0 run to lead 39-32, Curry sinking two 3-pointers in the spurt.

James knows his team have to play a flawless game on Friday or else they will be on the wrong end of a historic playoff run.

The Warriors scored the last 11 points in the game to stretch their record playoff win streak this season to 15-0 and grabbed a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. "Another challenge for us to get better and go against a great team".

"I gave everything that I had to this game", James said. "So even when you're playing well, you've got to play like A-plus-plus". When asked if the roster was fair, James spoke about television ratings and how much the fans have loved the game.

I would say it's definitely the most firepower he's played against.

"If we win the championship, I'm like 99 percent sure we don't get him", Green said.

Previous year in Game 3, LeBron and Irving combined for 62 points, and the Cavaliers won going away. "Let's not forget he's averaging [34 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists] in the NBA Finals, you just don't do that".
