Aerialist Daredevil Hangs by Teeth from Chopper Over Niagara Falls

The acrobat's husband, Nik Wallenda, walked a 1,800-foot tightrope from the NY side of Niagara Falls into Canada.

Scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on a weekday, Erendira Wallenda's stunt drew nowhere near the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds of her husband's 2012 prime-time high wire walk.

U.S. media said her stunt set a Guinness World Record for height, breaking a record established by her husband Nik when hanging from his teeth 250 feet (76 meters) above Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.

Enerdira did make history - breaking the record by 100ft - a record formerly held by her husband, Nik.

The daredevil couple insinuated they could perform a duo stunt together in a few years.

Hang in there, Nik Wallenda - even if your wife just shattered your record. "It was a lot more windy than I expected it to be".

State parks officials say your blankets and lawn chairs probably aren't needed because the stunt will be short.

The weather was fair Thursday morning, and everything went to plan but Erendira said she was shocked by the wind speeds.

Niagara County and the city of Niagara Falls each set aside $35,000 to help fund the stunt, and the Seneca Gaming Corp., the event's lead sponsor, gave $50,000, reported the Buffalo News.

Nik told reporters that he's looking to build a permanent attraction in Niagara Falls that would showcase his family business.

Joked the husband, "In five more years I'm going to hang by one tooth, 800 feet above the falls". "She hovered over by the helicopter, she practically beat her husband at it", said Haley Shirley. During that time, Erendira was dangling about two dozen feet - today, 300 feet.

The Niagara Falls, New York Gazette provided details to this story. "That's incredible. That's awesome, '" he said.
