Ex-sparring partner predicts 'easy' win for Mayweather in McGregor fight

Ex-sparring partner predicts 'easy' win for Mayweather in McGregor fight

Sylvester Stallone will be betting on Conor McGregor to knock out Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in August's (17) big fight.

The Straight Blast Gym head-coach tweeted "10 weeks #McGregorVsMayweather" alongside an image of himself and The Notorious One.

The two fighters come from different disciplines, with Mayweather an accomplished boxer and McGregor a mixed martial arts expert fighting out of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The fight will be contested at 154 pounds and will be held at T-Mobile Arena. "So I think that we gain from the mistakes that were made and the knowledge that they have now of what went wrong with that fight".

For Irishman McGregor, who has won titles in various UFC weight divisions, professional boxing is an unknown territory. If you bet $100 on McGregor and he wins, you would win $700. "Mayweather's cute little moves will make all the difference and it will be an easy fight for him".

He said: "Listen, is he at the level of a Floyd Mayweather as far as boxing standards go? No".

Mayweather opened as a minus-1000 favorite, with McGregor at plus-650, at the Westgate sports book in Las Vegas.

The UFC stripped McGregor of his featherweight belt shortly after that fight when he announced he would be taking some time off after he and long-time partner Dee Devlin had their first baby in May. He has boxing training, but has never faced anyone with the speed of Mayweather.

Ronda Rousey of the United States (left) faces-off with compatriot Holly Holm for the UFC fight in Melbourne on November 13, 2015. "When you talk to this guy, it's fascinating".

A win for Mayweather would move him ahead of former heavyweight great Rocky Marciano, who also retired with a flawless 49-0 career record. The fight will be one of the biggest moments in the history of combat sports and figures to be one of the greatest spectacles of all time.

The fight exploded into life when Mayweather threw a series of hard-hitting punches towards Big Show before "Money" and his accomplices quickly exited the ring.
