Two Navy sailors killed in Gwadar shooting

Gwadar [Balochistan], June 20: At least two Navy sailors were killed and three others wounded when their vehicle was attacked in the Jiwani area of Balochistan's Gwadar district.

The publication reported that four gunmen on 2 bikes attacked the Navy officers vehicle in Jiwani, Gwadar on Monday.

"Such acts from extremist elements will not dent our resolve", said the navy spokesman.

Following the attack, security has been tightened and a search operation was launched in the area to apprehend those involved in the attack.

No terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack as yet. "Two sailors embraced martyrdom while another three sustained wounds", he said in a press statement.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri strongly condemned the incident, asking the levies and police to submit a report about the terrorist incident on a priority basis.

Two terrorists killed: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) shot dead two suspected terrorists in Lahore on Monday. They also paid tribute to security forces in fight against terrorism. "They would be remembered", the governor and the CM said.

Gwadar port and Baluchistan are the integral part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and both countries have agreed to bolster security for the people, including Chinese nationals, working on different projects under the Dollars 50 billion project.

Pakistan and China have inked agreements aimed at boosting cooperation in various sectors between the two countries.

China is also developing the warm water Gwadar port, a prominent feature of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) plan.
