Bill Cosby says he isn't planning a 'sexual assault tour'

Bill Cosby's next trial will be in California.

Cosby sat for a more-than seven-hour deposition in the Huth case on October 9 past year.

Judge Craig Karlan has set July 30, 2018, as the trial date for Ms Huth's lawsuit.

In the meantime, Cosby plans to go on a town hall tour, which were initially announced as a way to educate people about sexual assault. Three have filed sexual battery or defamation cases in California, and seven have sued for defamation in MA, where Cosby has a home.

Attorney Angela Agrusa told reporters after a hearing Tuesday in a California sexual assault lawsuit that she can't imagine Cosby's legal team would let him speak or perform.

The announcement came less than a week after Cosby's high-profile trial on charges of aggravated indecent assault ended in a mistrial.

Cosby's representatives had said that at least one town hall meeting had been planned for Birmingham, Alabama, in July.

On Tuesday, Wyatt said his comments were taken out of context and that Cosby was still sifting through speaking invitations from civic organisations and church groups. Huth's lawyer, Gloria Allred, has said the scheduling of a second deposition is on hold because of the criminal trial. Sounds like Cosby didn't like the public's reaction.

Cosby's attorney also said on Tuesday that the comedian will not be speaking about sexual assault issues at town halls this summer, saying that the coming retrial of his criminal case was too important to jeopardize.

The case has been partially delayed by Mr Cosby's criminal charges.

"He would never do anything that undermined the importance of this issue", Agrusa said outside the courthouse today, per Deadline. "Any further information about public plans will be given at the appropriate time", he told ABC News via a statement.

As is his prerogative under Pennsylvania law, Montgomery County D.A. Kevin Steele says he will seek a new trial with the same charges against the actor.

"The current propaganda that I am going to conduct a sexual assault tour is false", Cosby said in a statement on Tuesday.

Ten women are pursuing either sexual abuse or defamation lawsuits against Cosby.

Cosby has repeatedly denied wrongdoing, pleaded not guilty, and insisted that his encounter with Constand was consensual.
