John Romero is auctioning off original Doom 2 floppy disks

That's right, $3150. There's no missing decimal. Romero announced the sale on Twitter, pledging to sign the discs if the highest bidder requests it.

Doom 2 first released 23 years ago, finally bringing the Mancubus and super shotgun into digital being.

After three days, some DOOM loving game collecting eBay goer has purchased the floppies for $3,150.00 after 83 bits were made, making the items no longer available.

You can now buy the Doom 2 creator's original copy of Doom 2: John Romero has chose to put up his set of floppies on eBay. Without any box or any manuals. I know most of us do not have a floppy drive in our computers and such but I mean come on, John Romero's own personal floppy disks. But they do belong to Romero after all, and on the eBay listing, he even promises that he'll sign them if the buyer sees fit.

"I've chose to put up a set of DOOM 2 floppies (3.5") on eBay! The disks also won't include the original box.

If you are missing insanely expensive floppy disks for old games in your life, John Romero has just the thing for you: the original floppy disks for DOOM 2.
