Sean Spicer claims he has never discussed Russian hacking with Trump

A report from Bloomberg this week said Trump is preparing to shake up his communications team and move Spicer away from the podium and into more of a strategy role.

"We're going to do what we can to communicate our message, we have tremendous respect for the First Amendment and your ability to do your job and report and seek out ideas", Mr Spicer said.

The author of the Atlantic article, Rosie Gray, tweeted Tuesday that "we're already several steps further into the "Sean got fatter" controversy than I thought we would be".

The CBS late-night star got a kick out of Spicer saying, "There are days where we decide that the president's voice should be the one who speaks for the administration". You know, it just strikes me that [White House press secretary] Sean Spicer, Karen, still can not answer the question as to whether he thinks Russian Federation meddled.

As the White House hunkers down in the midst of the expanding Russian Federation scandal, press briefings are becoming less frequent and the once-daily sightings of press secretary Sean Spicer a thing of the past.

His public role has already diminished in recent weeks. As per Politico and Bloomberg, the White House is reevaluating Spicer's role.

There's more than one way to kill a briefing.

Spicer has been a lightning rod for the administration's critics since President Trump took the oath of office in January.

"I don't know if he's seen the legislation or not, but I know that they've been working extremely hard", Spicer told reporters.

President Trump has long considered making major staffing changes within the White House, the Associated Press reported, and reports have constantly swirled of top advisers being potentially replaced.

But it is also true that Trump has suggested the briefing is not a good fit for his White House since his spokesman can't be expected to keep up with his thinking. However, White House chief strategist, Steve Bannon, actually provided a reason as to why Spicer wasn't speaking to the media that often.
