Watch Pierce Brosnan & Jackie Chan Face Off In THE FOREIGNER Trailer

The screenplay was written by David Marconi, and the film is based on the novel "The Chinaman" ($5 at Amazon) by Stephen Leather.

Past year pictures were released for the new film of Brosnan looking very much like Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams. His search for answers leads him to a British government official Liam Hennessy (Pierce Brosnan), who may be more connected than he appears to be.

Jackie Chan has a particular set of skills and he's working with two Bond alum in Casino Royale director Martin Campbell and former Bond, Pierce Brosnan to use them. Of course Campbell also directed "Green Lantern" and the "Zorro" films, so you win some, and you lose some.

The actor stars alongside Chan, who plays a man who plays a man whose daughter is killed in an IRA bombing.

"The Foreigner" an action-thriller, tells the story of a London businessman (Jackie Chan) who lost his all he had to the IRA.

It's a decent trailer, showing off a different type of role for Chan and some strong-looking action sequences.

The movie is set for release in the United States in October, although we don't as of yet have a United Kingdom release for it.
