Peggy's sister Brenda Cravatta posted a tribute to her sister on her Facebook page, writing, "It warms my heart to see all the love and beautiful words from all of [Peggy's] friends".

A police statement says emergency response units were dispatched on the afternoon of Saturday, June 8, to respond to a house fire, where a body was found inside the residence.

Anna is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, concealment of a homicidal death and arson. If convicted, she could be behind bars until she is 21.

They're scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.

Sauk Valley reported on Tuesday that Anna's friend has not been charged, and that the two girls are being held in Mary Davis Detention Home in Galesburg.

Anna was waiting at home with her mom's.38 revolver when Peggy, who worked at the Wahl Clipper Service Center, 3001 N. Locust St.in Sterling, came home Thursday around 5:30 p.m. Anna met her in the living room, told her to put a towel over her face and shot her in the forehead. Her friend also who is 15 years old too could face charges of concealing a homicide and arson for allegedly helping the accused.

Rachel then went over and the girls tried to clean the blood out of the carpet.

They went to sleep and the next day moved Peggy's body from the lounge to her bedroom, before covering her with a sheet, the Sun reports.

At the same time, Anna posted a chilling message on her deceased mother's Facebook page telling her she loved her and would "never forget her".

Authorities picked up the girl after her friend confessed to her own mother what the two had done.

The girls then went to buy more cleaning supplies, he said.

The two girls made a decision to run away, and dyed their hair on Friday. Rachel, who is blonde, dyed hers red; Schroeder, who is brunette, dyed hers black.

An Illinois teenager has been charged with murder after her mother was found shot to death in her home, which was then set on fire.

A motive for the apparent murder is not yet known.

Around 1:30 pm on Saturday, neighbours reported smelling burning plastic. 911 was called to report the fire, and Peggy's remains were soon discovered.

Saukvalley.com reports that Rachel was so guilt-ridden that she confessed everything to her mother. She allegedly shot her mother in the head and trying to hide the body by setting the house on fire.

"I don't even know if you can see me right now but if you can I just want you to know you were my best friend", she wrote". "I'm more anxious about my mom and getting things the arrangements and stuff done".

"I started crying I just couldn't believe it, because my mom was always very careful with candles and stuff", Kaylene Schroeder said.
