Lea Michele Remembers Cory Monteith On Twitter 4 Years After Death

Thursday (June 13) marks the four year anniversary of Cory Monteith's death, but he'll forever be in our hearts - and especially in Lea Michele's. Her tweet said. Attached was an image of a black-and-white Polaroid photo of the couple.

Taking to Instagram, Michele posted a picture of her holding an old photo of the pair together with the caption: "4 years and it still feels like yesterday. love you more C".

Cory tragically died back in July 2013 from a "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol".

In April of that same year, Monteith completed a stint in rehab receiving treatment for substance addiction.

We are sending our thoughts and prayers to Lea and all of Cory's loved ones today.

She went on: 'At the end of the day, the song is pretty specific, and people are gonna make of it what they want, but I wanted to make a song about loss that wasn't necessarily sad. "I worked very, very, very hard and I got back to that place where I was genuinely happy and strong and ready to live again and see the world and, you know, bring in more attractive experiences".

Michele, now 30, and Monteith first met on the set of "Glee" and dated from 2012 up until the time of his passing.
