Real Madrid capture Real Betis midfielder Ceballos

Los Blancos announced the signing of UEFA U21 European Championship Player of the Tournament, Dani Ceballos on Friday.

He will then fly to the United States the next day to link up with the rest of the squad for pre-season training and tour friendlies.

The midfielder will be presented at the club next Thursday in front of fans at the Bernabeu.

Ceballos is the second off-season signing for the La Liga champions following the arrival of Theo Hernandez from Atletico Madrid.

Vallejo is not now on tour after representing Spain at the recent Under-21 European Championship in Poland, but the young centre-back has been handed Pepe's old number three shirt ahead of the new season.

Madrid activated his €15m release clause but will end up paying an extra €3m with other clauses included, according to reports in Spain.

Betis said in a statement: "The club thanks Dani Ceballos for his services and wishes him all the best in the future".

After Ceballos starred for Spain at Under-21 Euro 2017, it was soon reported that both Real and arch rivals Barcelona were keen on signing the Real Betis midfielder.
