Funeral for NY trooper killed while responding to domestic dispute

Rebecca Finkle, a friend of Nichole, was also shot, but her injuries are non-life-threatening.

A state trooper killed in the line of duty will be laid to rest Saturday.

Authorities say a Fort Drum soldier, Staff Sgt. Justin Walters, fatally shot Davis on Sunday as the trooper responded to reports of shots fired on the nearby property where the soldier lived with his wife.

Several thousand law enforcement officers from across the USA and Canada are expected to attend the funeral for a NY state trooper killed in the line of duty. It included officers from the Evans Mills and Theresa police departments, officers who worked with Trooper Davis.

About 60 state police officers from Troop B in Ray Brook were expected to attend the funeral. He said several weapons were found but he could not say for sure which was used.

"When I come in at 6:30 in the morning and see them standing, it really hits home,"Prelas said".

Davis was a born and raised in the North Country.

Mr. Davis's death is a awful loss. Walters, 32, was charged with killing his 27-year-old wife, Nichole V. Walters, and Mr. Davis.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo sad in a statement, "The entire NY family grieves today".
