Kyle Larson Wins 4th Pole of 2017 at New Hampshire

Martin Truex Jr. moved into first place of the NASCAR Cup Series after Kyle Larson was penalized for a post-race inspection at Kentucky. He is the only driver with multiple wins in this race and he has finished third or better in five of his last eight Cup races at this track.

"I don't have a theory", Busch offered when asked why Truex's auto has been faster. "I don't honestly know what it was that got us in trouble".

Truex is enjoying the splendors of his success as he prepares for Overton's 301 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. Fast facts: Elliott Sadler leads the series with 578 points despite not winning a race. The second-place finish meant Larson kept a one-point lead over Truex, but that lead disappeared in the middle of the week.

Looking ahead, Burton says he feels comfortable heading into the latter end of the K&N season. "Our auto definitely was extremely fast last weekend".

Truex has always enjoyed the northern hospitalities of NHMS. At such a low price tag, Danica is a strong deep sleeper pick to deliver at New Hampshire this weekend.

If there was a time to put the puzzle pieces together and earn a trip to New Hampshire's Victory Lane, this would be it. "We've had a lot of different things happen over the years here at New Hampshire". This year, Larson has been leading the Monster Energy Series most of the year.

Eventually Danica is going to have to deliver, right?

In the meantime, Burton has his own recipe for posting a better finish than last year's (seventh) at NHMS. Now, after weeks of strenuous rehab, he'll attempt to reclaim that momentum with a newfound appreciation for his job, and his health.

The driver to watch is Aric Almirola, who returns this week from injury.

"It's really been a good race track for me on average throughout my career ... it's just been tough to put it all together to get the finishes. We've got great race cars, we've got a great team, just everything is clicking".
