Mourinho claims Manchester United need two more signings this summer

Chelsea were left frustrated in their attempts to sign Romelu Lukaku after Manchester United managed to hijack the west London side's bid to re-sign the Belgium global.

The Spain worldwide was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer and it was believed they had agreed personal terms with the 24-year-old. However, the 20-time English champions' offer fell short of the Spanish capital club's valuation of €80m (£70.2m, $90.7m). "I am nobody to speak about players from Real Madrid", Mourinho said. "We have not come to an economic agreement, that is obvious as well".

Real are demanding a fee close to £79m (€90m) for Morata, which the Blues feel is far too higher price to pay.

Morata was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer following Conte's appointment as manager but the centre-forward secured a return to Real Madrid from Juventus.

"They have tried to reach an agreement during a time, and they didn't come to an agreement".

But after growing frustrated with their attempts to sign the 24-year-old they opted to buy Romelu Lukaku from Everton for £75m instead.

Antonio Conte is of course facing other issues at the club, with Diego Costa's future still uncertain, and the fact of the matter being the Blues would not be in such a hard situation had Conte not had told Costa he had no future at the club, with the striker possibly staying for six months and then leaving for Atletico Madrid as he wanted.

United fans are just as happy if not more so, Morata and Lukaku are very different strikers but they're both at a similar level.
