Oregon WR Carrington off team following DUI arrest

OR had indefinitely suspended Carrington after police stopped him in downtown Eugene.

OR hired Willie Taggart as its new head coach this offseason, replacing Mark Helfrich, whom the team replaced following a 4-8 year.

"We will always consider Darren a Duck and support him in any way we can", Taggart said in the statement. Carrington had foregone an opportunity to enter the National Football League draft last spring and had graduated from the University in June. Reaves reached a settlement with the University over his contract and resigned in February.

He appeared in 12 games as a junior, hauling in a career-high 43 receptions for 606 yards and five touchdowns.

Darren Carrington has run out of second chances at Oregon. Carrington led the Ducks in receiving yards a year ago, catching 43 passes for 606 yards and five touchdowns.

Carrington was arrested in the early morning hours of July 1, following an accident at a McDonald's at 659 E. Broadway in Eugene. He also received an open-container citation in 2015 and was accused last season of pushing a man and breaking his arm, an allegation that hasn't resulted in criminal charges.

Carrington was booked into Lane County jail at 5:28 a.m. on July 1 and left at approximately 6:30 a.m. after bail of $590 was posted on his behalf, according to jail officials.

However, Carrington seemed to have a nose for trouble.
