The bookies are convinced Zlatan Ibrahimovic will stay at Man United

Jose Mourinho has admitted Zlatan Ibrahimovic could play for Manchester United again after revealing he may stay at the club.

Speaking on United's pre-season tour in the US, Mourinho said "He [Matic] is a Chelsea player and I can't speak about him".

'Arsenal won a competition, we won two-and-a-half, I like to say. We aren't happy with just Lukaku and Lindelof. We need more, we wanted four, so I would say 50 per cent of the job is done, but I don't want to say that because everything is so hard.

Mourinho has already spent over £100m this summer - but he wants to strengthen his squad further with Ivan Perisic and Nemanja Matic.

De Gea has always been linked with a move to the Spanish capital, but Mourinho has reportedly already informed the club that he does not want the shot-stopper to join Real.

"It's hard, it's the same with Alvaro Morata, we have to respect the player, the club, the owner, the manager".

Ibrahimovic, who had scored 28 goals for United, has since seen his one-year deal expire and Mourinho has confirmed that talks will continue over a possible return around Christmas time.

"It is a right of Madrid to ask for their players the amount they want. He didn't want to hide behind such an wonderful [serious] injury - it would be easy to hide behind it, stop and go to a different level of football. He made the challenge for himself to keep playing at the highest level".

Look at Mourinho's record at previous clubs and it is clear the second season has become his calling card, the moment he makes his move, and United supporters hope it will be no different at Old Trafford.
