EVO 2017: Arc System Works Unveils 'BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle'

After the BlazBlue grand finals for EVO 2017, ArcSys had a few interesting announcements to make.

It fuses three fighting game series: Arc System Works' own BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena and Under Night In-Birth, but the real surprise is the addition of RWBY.

The company is working on a new BlazBlue game. Joining the BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle roster, which includes BlazBlue's Ragna the Bloodedge and Jin Kisaragi, are Yu Narukami from Persona 4 Arena, Hyde from Under Night In-Birth, and Ruby Rose from RWBY. It shows off one character from each of the four series, and a brief look at the game's 2v2 tag system. Well, considering that Arc System Works has its hands full with Dragon Ball FighterZ, we assumed it would be a while.

Cross Tag Battle is scheduled to launch in 2018 for consoles, though there are no further details available about the game.

On top of the new game, the developer and publisher also shared news on its latest 2D fighting game BlazBlue CentralFiction, that will get a new character this summer, Jubei.
