LinkedIn app launches on Windows 10

The PCs were able to receive the Anniversary edition of Windows 10, but when the Creators Update was pushed through in March 2017, the update failed.

This is without a doubt, this could only cause more confusion among users, especially because in some parts of the world, like the southern hemisphere, the Redstone 3 update would see daylight during the spring. "Until then, Windows Update will prevent devices containing one of the processors listed above from installing the Creators Update".

As of September, Microsoft will give users interested in buying Windows 10 Enterprise as a subscription a variety of options for virtualization.

Available here for users who register with a corporate Active Directory credential, Windows Server Insider Preview Build 16237 adds plenty of features that emphasises Microsoft's current mania for microservices, software-defined-everything and containers. You can also track when people view your profile, get highlights from recent LinkedIn posts and stay on top of news that's relevant to you.

The launch comes after Microsoft last summer acquired LinkedIn for $26.2 billion in the most expensive social networking acquisition in history. There's also pin a Live Tile feature so messages and updates can pop up on members' screens, said Hermes Alvarez, a product manager.

LinkedIn does support notifications in browsers already as well however, but I don't know if those are in real-time or delayed.

I can not imagine that a lot of users make use of these features on the desktop, except maybe for a quick glance on the weather tile every now and then. The situation improves with every release, but if Microsoft cannot deliver powerful applications that show the strength of the Universal Windows Platform, how can the company expect that third-party developers invest resources in doing so? You'll get a notification when someone sends you a message or requests to get in touch with you, letting you take action immediately.

Microsoft states that "Each Windows 10 feature update will be serviced with quality updates for 18 months from the date of the feature update release".
