Melbourne buck's party death: Woman in shower was 'member of defence force'

Victoria Police have released four men last night following the discovery of a body in a Melbourne serviced apartment.

Four men, all aged in their late 20s to early 30s from the ACT and NSW, are now in custody assisting with the investigation.

Homicide detectives say she was wearing a black long-sleeved top, blue denim shorts and white running shoes.

When questioned by a reporter as to how the woman died, one man believed to be part of the buck's party responded: "dunno, you'll have to ask the police".

Police refused to confirm the woman's identity on Monday, despite ruling out foul play.

Detectives continue their investigation.

Police are testing for the presence of illicit drugs. The men are from the ACT and New South Wales, police say.

Members of the group were last seen at the Minimalistic Showcase at Cloud Nine, in a King Street nightclub, between 2.30am and 3am.

One told The Age they had been at the football and didn't "know what happened".

The apartment complex is located just off Collins Street in the middle of Melbourne's CBD and financial precinct.

The Homicide Squad is investigating the death, with the deceased woman yet to be formally identified.
