Sergio Aguero to Chelsea?

Sergio Aguero to Chelsea?

The Argentine striker has struggled to win over City boss Pep Guardiola since his arrival at the Etihad.

Although it appears a desperate attempt by the Premier League champion, Chelsea is in dire need of a prolific goalscorer to spearhead its attack next season.

The Blues wanted to sign Romelu Lukaku but Manchester United won the race to secure his services.

Chelsea are eager to land a top-class striker in the coming weeks to replace Diego Costa.

Chelsea is now left with 23-year-old Michy Batshuayi as its only option at striker, and so is frantically searching through the transfer market for potential signings.

Despite suggestions that he is losing potency, only Harry Kane has scored more than Aguero's 70 Premier League goals over the last three seasons. Since then they have been heavily linked with Alvaro Morata, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Andrea Belotti. Now, Chelsea has taken its place and is considering making an offer for the 24-year-old Spaniard.

City and Pep Guardiola have always said that Aguero will stay at City, but the questions about Aguero's future have only increased this summer as City continue to pursue a deal for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez.

Speaking earlier this summer, the latter said: "I've read a lot of the speculation on this and it's ridiculous".

Over the past 24 hours, rumours of Sergio Aguero moving to Chelsea have seriously picked up. "It has never been in doubt".

Manchester City superstar Sergio Aguero has been linked with a shock move to one of the Citizens' biggest rivals. "It has never been in doubt".
