Trunks gets his own trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ

Video game stories from other sites on the web.

The newest trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ showed off the first footage of Trunks, the fighter from the future. That announcement did not involve Tekken, but rather another of Bandai Namco's fighters, Dragon Ball FighterZ. Players will be able to select from a roster of nine playable characters, which will include Trunks.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will be released in early 2018 for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Hopefully more Dragon Ball Super characters are included!

The game previously introduced Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Cell, Frieza and Majin Buu as well, with Trunks acting as the latest addition. Since the games are vastly different outside of being based on Dragon Ball, it's quite possible that there are Nintendo Switch owners interested in the gameplay FighterZ is bringing to the table, but have no desire to play Xenoverse 2 at all.

Dragon Ball FighterZ was announced last month during E3 and quickly became one of the most anticipated games from those within the fighting community.

Elsewhere in the interview, Hiroki explained why there's a "Z" in the game's title.

Some fans may take issue with Hiroki's statement regarding a Switch version of Dragon Ball FighterZ, but to be fair, Bandai Namco isn't the only company taking a "wait and see" approach with Nintendo's new console. There are plans for various changes to stages as matches go on but no plans to implement cross-play between platforms.
