Texas police search for would-be armed robbers

The video shows the two men with guns trying to rob a store before the two men behind the counter grab one suspect and put him in a headlock.

Police, who said they would never advise people to confront an armed person, said the men did not get away with anything from the store.

A GUTSY shop owner and his son forced a pair of gun-toting armed robbers to flee empty handed - and one lost his shirt as they wrestled him out the door.

Arlington police said the men are both black and roughly the same size with a slender build and standing between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall.

The father-son duo struggled with the suspect for a bit as the second suspect aimed his gun toward the scuffle, appearing rather dumbfounded by the would-be victims' reaction to their attempted robbery.

Commenting on the incident, police said: 'We do not recommend that you try and fight off armed robbers.

"When I saw my son in a fight, I didn't think, I just ran toward the fight to help", Monga told the television station. "If something is going to happen, it's going to happen to both of us", Khurrum Monga said.

Nothing was taken from the store, but police told Monga that the gun left behind was real and loaded.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Arlington Police asked anyone who recognizes either of the raiders to contact Detective Houchin on 817-459-5301. Get email alerts from KSAT 12 today.
