Double delight for Steve Mounie as Huddersfield celebrate ideal start

Few things in football are more exciting than a club making their Premier League debut, and Huddersfield Town will have that honor on Saturday when they travel to south London to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

"The motivation is to make the team better and to make every individual a better player", De Boer said. "If you analyse the game it is quite simple". Tactically, we didn't do what we have talked about. This is why we bought him, to score goals.

"We will all help Mark as much as we can as he makes the transition into coaching and continues to learn, but I'm sure he will still be a big help and influence on our squad as we prepare for the Premier League".

"We had good chances then 30 seconds later they went down the other end and scored again and the game is over". Sometimes it is the forwards not directly pressing and stopping crossings. Jonas Lossl was outstanding in the goal, we had the right team spirit, the right togetherness, I think we deserved this win.

However, on the whole, there was not a great deal for De Boer to be positive about as his side were soundly beaten, leaving him with plenty to ponder.

De Boer is an interesting appointment for the Eagles, with the shock departure of former England boss Sam Allardyce allowing them to bring in a more exotic appointment. "It [the game] doesn't last 75 minutes, it's 95 minutes concentration, it was a very expensive lesson for us".

'But it nearly bodes well that we haven't had much experience because people really want to prove themselves, have a good go and show to everyone they are capable of playing in this league. Full compliments to Huddersfield.

Pegged as relegation favourites after ensuring promotion via the Championship play-offs, David Wagner's men dictated matters in the first half and made top-flight history as they broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute.
