Georgia official calls for criminal investigation into R. Kelly

Eaves has now announced he'll host a press conference Friday morning in Fulton County, where he's expected to announce a criminal investigation after new evidence was unearthed by law enforcement.

According to Rolling Stone, Eaves urged police to "follow every lead-no matter where it leads, or who it implicates, and bring those persons to swift justice".

"We are not now investigating Mr. Kelly..."

A mayoral candidate for the city of Atlanta is calling for a full criminal investigation into R. Kelly over sex abuse allegations. "Once the evaluation is complete, we will take the appropriate action", Fulton County district attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. said in a statement sent to USA TODAY.

But on Friday, Atlanta mayoral candidate John Eaves - now the Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners - renewed calls for a full criminal investigation by the district attorney's office.

The district attorney's office said they are "evaluating" the new file, but there is now no investigation.

If you recall, original reports surfaced from parents that Kellz was allegedly holding several young women against their will after promising a slew of them he would be advancing their musical careers.

A lawyer for Kelly told BuzzFeed that the singer denies the allegations.

No one should be above the law, because of their income or their zip code.

Well, the police has reportedly called bullshit on this claim.

The 50-year-old R&B star is facing accusations from two sets of parents, who claim he has brainwashed their daughters and other women, and records his sexual encounters with them.

"Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name". "Mr. Kelly is outraged by the ongoing efforts of the Fulton County Board of Commissions and its chairman to interfere with his business interests and now, absent any authority, attempt to have him targeted for investigation". Savage also released a video in which she claimed she is "fine", but refused to disclose her location or whether she is free to leave.
