In a bizzare incident, a Class-7 student allegedly attempted suicide while playing an online game named "Blue Whale" in his school premises in Madhya Pradesh's Indore.

Fortunately, his classmates who were quick to intervene saved his life after they noticed that he was leaning over the third-floor railing of the school.

The student from Chameli Devi Public School in Indore tried to jump off the building's third floor in a bid complete the 50 and last dare instructed in the game, reported The Times of India. Police told reporters that the boy tried committing suicide in order to complete the final stage of the dreaded Blue Whale Game.

"Initial investigation suggests that the boy had been playing the Blue Whale game on his father's cellphone for the last couple of days", Additional Superintendent of Police Rupesh Kumar Dwivedi said.

Police were thinking of taking the boy to a psychiatrist for counselling, the ASP said.

Police say that the child was playing the game on his parent's mobile who were unaware of it.

The Kerala government yesterday said it would ask the Centre to ban the Blue Whale game, citing reports of a large number of children getting addicted to it.

The game is suspected to have been the cause of death of a Class IX student who committed suicide by jumping off the fifth floor in Andheri, Mumbai on July 29.

In the game players are asked to draw a whale image on a piece of paper, then as a challenge, they were asked to draw the same design on their hand, and by drawing means craving with a knife after all this hey then given tasks like watch horror movies alone etc.

The deadly game, ostensibly created by a former convict in Russian Federation, psychologically provoke players to indulge in daring, self-destructive tasks for 50 days before finally taking the "winning" step of killing themselves.
