Salma Hayek wishes luck to Akshay for 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha'

The film was always tipped to be running hit as the film mot only promised entertainment but also takes a stand against an important national issue. Released in over 3000 screens in India, Toilet Ek Prem Katha witnessed 30-35 per cent occupancy on the first day.

Hollywood actress Salma Hayek has wished good luck to Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar for his film "Toilet Ek Prem Katha". The film has started on a good note in smaller towns where it holds promise, but it had lukewarm response multiplexes in metros, where the film goers can not relate to the subject dealt in the movie. The film received positive reviews from the film critics along with the impressive ratings, the film is generating so much positive buzz.

Toilet-Ek Prem Katha is a satirical comedy-drama. A day before the release, Akshay Kumar shared his feelings and thoughts about this enriching journey coming to end with a Facebook post. The movie which is directed by Shree Narayan Singh co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey. The film, which features Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role alongside Akshay, worked well in the Uttar Pradesh and Bihar regions. Akshay's previous films too have opened with similar numbers in the past whether it is Jolly LLB 2 (Rs. 13.20 crore) or Rustom (Rs.14.11crore) and Housefull 3 (Rs.15.21 crore).

It also has the advantage of the public holiday (Independence Day) on Tuesday, which will surely boost the film.

Inspired by Prime Miniser Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyaa, the film urges people to stop open defecation. The film is not an usual concept for Bollywood, which makes the odds of the film doing well in the box office could be a concern.
