Cardinals announce they'll honor Rally Cat with 'Rally Cat Appreciation Day'

The St. Louis Cardinals said a kitten that ran onto the field, spurring their comeback win on Wednesday has gone missing. And you know what?

Happy Caturday! You may have already heard about the determined kitten zooming across the field during the August 9 game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals.

Can't get enough "Rally Cat" fever?

Of course, we can't forget the greatest exhibition of cat sportsmanship ever-the Kitten Bowl.

A lot of people want to know what happened to that kitten. Seconds after grounds crew member Lucas Hackmann captured the furry friend, CATcher Yadier Meowlina hit a grand slam to take the lead and litter-ally cement Rally Cat's place in history.

At that point, as our ushers tried to contain the cat, a fan grabbed it and claimed it was hers. She then abruptly left with the cat. Rigley says Rally Cat is definitely not a feral cat and is a domesticated stray. We understand from media accounts that the woman meant to take it home and care for it, but lost track of it in City Garden.
